The Great Rose - Practice Rose

Working construction I have total access to a bunch of toys. Some people call them wood working tools, I call them toys. Well, one day at the job the owner’s daughter was playing around with some emborderment (or the fancy looking pressed wood) as a sword. I joked with the owner saying I should make her a real wooden sword to play with, where she then told me that I should. So I took a length of our scrap cherry wood (trust me, this stuff isn’t cheap) and cut the hilt and blade from a solid piece, then I made the cross guard out of another piece of cherry. Then I took the emborderment and ran it up the blade. Upon finishing, I discovered that this is a nice little sword so I knocked out the little one as well. It’s made the same way just with less detail.

There was no grip on either of these when this picture was taken.
